Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrated experience with strong accounting skills in A/R, A/P, G/L, journal entry and report preparation Knowledge and proper application of GAAP accounting principles Strong account reconciliation skills and related journal entry preparation Successful experience with annual audit preparation Ability to manage, follow through, and complete multiple tasks and projects Detail-oriented, organized and deadline-driven Discretion and confidentiality required College degree with an accounting concentration preferred At least five years' experience as an accountant or full-charge bookkeeper Monthly reconciliation of bank statements, receivables, investments, fixed assets, payables, notes and bond payable, deferred revenue, annual giving and endowment accounts. Reconciles to Development office reporting of annual giving and permanent endowments. Prepares recurring monthly journal entries for all accounts and allocations for review by the Controller. Maintains accounting records and support for all reconciliations, allocations and journal entries.Qualifications:
5-7 years or more of progressive accounting experience (nonprofit or education industry experience preferred) Strong knowledge and application of FASB, GAAP, and SAS; Excellent reconciliation skills; Demonstrated ability to manage accounting processes.
