Construction Senior Accountant

Job DescriptionJob Description Construction Senior Accountant - Denver, CO (in-office) Pay rate: $42-50/hr.

DOE Responsibilities:

Drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting Review and correct balance sheet reconciliations and profit and loss statements Analyze job-level and business-level financial performance Provide commentary on trends, variances, and profitability to support strategic decision-making Prepare complex journal entries, including those related to payroll, amortization, accruals, allocations, and intercompany activity Perform bank and credit card reconciliations Support cost accounting efforts to ensure job costing and margins are accurate Partner with operational leaders, project managers, and other departments to resolve financial challenges and support business goals Assist in developing and maintaining internal controls, accounting procedures, and policy documentation Research and interpret complex accounting issues and provide actionable recommendations to leadership Lead special projects to improve financial processes and reporting systems Record payroll-related journal entries Support preparation of schedules for tax filings and audits

Systems:

QuickBooks and advanced Excel functions (including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIF, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA or progress toward CPA preferred 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within the construction, contracting, or remodeling sectors
