At Clean Water Environmental Services (CWES), we're more than an environmental consulting and engineering company — we're a team of passionate professionals dedicated to protecting our planet while driving operational excellence. We're looking for a Staff Accountant who will bring precision, integrity, and strategic insight to our growing finance team.
Ensure Accuracy:
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring transactions are complete, correct, and timely.
Financial Reporting:
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements that reflect the company's performance and growth.
Manage Transactions:
Process accounts payable and receivable efficiently, keeping financial operations running smoothly.
Reconciliation:
Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
Support Strategic Planning:
Assist in budgeting and forecasting to guide leadership in informed financial decision-making.
Cross-Department Collaboration:
Partner with internal teams to analyze and interpret financial data for operational and project initiatives.
Tax & Compliance:
Prepare tax filings and compliance documentation to meet state and federal regulations.
Audit Support:
Provide documentation and reports for internal and external audits.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement opportunities to enhance accounting processes and workflow efficiency.
Asset Management:
Maintain and monitor fixed assets, ensuring accurate depreciation and recordkeeping.
Confidentiality:
Uphold the highest standards of integrity and discretion in handling financial data.
Requirements:
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA certification is a plus!
Experience:
3-5 years in accounting roles, ideally in the building or construction industries.
Accounting Expertise:
Strong understanding of GAAP and proficiency in accounting software (Accumatica experience is a bonus). Ability to research .
Analytical Skills:
Sharp problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
Software:
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with strong to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate financial information clearly. Ability to ask question if unsure is essential.
Organizational Skills:
Ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines with ease.
Adaptability:
Open to change and excited to take on new challenges.
