Senior Accountant / Accounting Supervisor Staff Accountant (Part-Time) Accounting Department | Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center (AVRMC) Support accuracy, accountability, and financial excellence in a mission‑driven healthcare environment. At Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center (AVRMC), our Accounting team plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of high‑quality patient care. We are seeking a detail‑oriented, analytical, and dependable Staff Accountant to join our team in La Junta, Colorado. Located just east of the Rocky Mountains, AVRMC proudly serves Southeastern Colorado with exceptional healthcare close to home. Position Summary As a Staff Accountant, you will support the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems, policies, and procedures. You will contribute to the accuracy and integrity of financial operations, assist with payroll and tax processes, and provide support to the Controller and accounting team to ensure compliance and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Accounting Operations & Support Manage and implement accounting policies, procedures, and financial systems Monitor accounting workflows to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time Ensure departmental compliance with hospital policies and procedures Monitor financial systems, investigate discrepancies, and assist in resolving issues Financial Analysis & Reconciliation Assist the Controller with financial projections, trend analysis, and general ledger review Support reconciliation processes and assist staff with balancing discrepancies Maintain accurate financial data and assist with reporting as needed Payroll & Tax Functions Assist with payroll processing and related accounting functions Support preparation and distribution of W‑2s and other IRS forms Assist with resolving tax‑related issues and serve as a resource for financial information Systems & Process Improvement Test accounting system updates, modifications, and enhancements prior to implementation Document all testing processes and ensure system accuracy Participate in continuous improvement and workflow efficiency initiatives Teamwork & Professionalism Assist with onboarding, training, and supporting accounting staff as needed Maintain strong working relationships within the department and across the organization Support a culture of safety, quality, and accountability Demonstrate professionalism and reliability in all job functions Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (or ability to obtain within 18 months) CPA certification Skills & Knowledge Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial systems Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities Effective problem‑solving and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong communication and teamwork skills Benefits & Perks Health & Wellness Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance (Full-Time) Life Insurance (Full-Time) Short-Term Disability Coverage (Full-Time) Flexible Spending Account (FSA) (Full-Time & Part-Time) Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity Insurance (Full-Time) Employee Wellness Programs (All Statuses) Gym Membership Discount (Part-Time & Full-Time) Employee Assistance Program (All Statuses) Financial Benefits Competitive Pay (All Statuses) Shift Differentials (All Statuses) Annual Salary Increase Opportunities (All Statuses) Generous Paid Time Off (Full-Time & Part-Time) 401(k) Retirement Plan (available immediately for eligible employees), Employer Match after 1 Year of Service Additional Advantages Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Eligible Employer (All Statuses) Colorado FAMLI Program Participation (All Statuses) (Up to 12-16 weeks of paid leave for qualifying life events) Identity Theft Protection (Full-Time & Part-Time) Rewards & Recognition Programs (All Statuses) Cafeteria Meal Discounts (All Statuses) Ready to Apply?
