This position works closely with Accounting, Operations, and Project Management to analyze project financial performance, identify trends and variances, maintain accurate forecasts, and provide management with timely and reliable financial information to support business decisions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze monthly Work in Progress (WIP) schedules and project financial performance.
  • Analyze project revenue, costs, gross profit, margins, and estimated costs at completion.
  • Compare actual project results to budgets and forecasts and identify significant variances, trends, and financial risks.
  • Review job cost reports for cost overruns, coding discrepancies, unusual activity, and other potential issues.
  • Reconcile WIP schedules to the general ledger and applicable project accounting systems.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Prepare financial models, reports, and analyses using Microsoft Excel.
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to monitor key performance indicators, including revenue, gross margin, backlog, cash flow, billing, collections, and project profitability.
  • Assist with annual company and departmental budgeting and forecasting.
  • Prepare rolling forecasts and analyze actual results against previous forecasts.
  • Partner with Operations and Project Management to improve project cost projections and financial forecast accuracy.
  • Assist with cash flow forecasting, including anticipated project billings and collections.
  • Support Accounting with account reconciliations, accruals, and financial analysis as needed.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports for management.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial data and supporting documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of accounting, financial analysis, project finance, or related experience preferred.
  • Construction accounting, job costing, or project financial management experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial statements, and accounting principles.
  • Experience with Work in Progress (WIP) reporting, percentage-of-completion accounting, and revenue recognition preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, conditional formatting, financial modeling, and large data-set analysis.
  • Experience with construction ERP, accounting, or project management systems preferred.
  • Experience with Spectrum, Viewpoint, HCSS, Procore, or similar systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to effectively communicate financial information to Accounting, Operations, Project Management, and leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Working Relationships This position works closely with Accounting, Finance, Operations, Project Management, and company leadership to support financial reporting, project performance analysis, forecasting, and business decision-making.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
