Bookkeeper/Accountant Cardinal Shehan Center Bridgeport, CT Job Details Part-time $25 - $30 an hour 21 hours ago Qualifications Finance Bachelor's degree Financial records management Attention to detail QuickBooks Online Accounting QuickBooks Invoice data entry Accounting Payroll processing Full Job Description Overview The Bookkeeper/Accountant is responsible for maintaining the financial records of the organization, manages the books, prepares financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance; bank reconciliation, payroll, journal entries, and is involved working with the outside auditor during yearly audit. The ideal candidate has strong foundational accounting knowledge and extensive, hands-on experience using QuickBooks Online (QBO). The position is part-time. This individual must have a Bachelor's degree. The Bookkeeper/Accountant reports to the Executive Director Bookkeeper/Accountant will be responsible for completing the following duties:
Responsibilities QuickBooks Management:
Maintain and update the QuickBooks Online ledger daily. including managing cloud bank feeds, matching transactions, and utilizing receipt capture.
Transaction Recording:
Accurately record daily financial activities, income, and expenses. Accounts Payable (AP): Review, code, and enter vendor invoices; schedule and process timely payments.
Bank Reconciliations:
Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly to resolve discrepancies.
General Ledger Maintenance:
Keep general ledgers up to date and organized.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare basic monthly financial statements, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets. Attendance at board meetings
Payroll Support:
Assist with payroll processing
Tax and Audit Prep:
Organize receipts, invoices, and documents to assist with year-end tax returns and audit. Any other duties assigned by the
Executive Director Qualifications and Skills Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
Experience:
2 to 3 years of proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
Software Proficiency:
Strong knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel Attention to
Detail:
High level of accuracy in data entry and record maintenance.
Communication:
Good interpersonal skills for working with vendors, clients, and team members.
Discretion:
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential financial information responsibly.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 25.0 per week
