Full Job Description Staff Accountant Location:
Cos Cob, CT (On-Site, 5 Days per Week)
Compensation:
Up to $95K Base + Bonus (DOE) We are partnering with a growing alternative asset management organization to identify a Staff Accountant for a newly created position driven by company growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to join a sophisticated financial services environment and gain exposure to both corporate and fund accounting while working directly with senior finance leadership. This role will work closely with the Controller and Fund Controller, supporting critical accounting functions, financial reporting, reconciliations, and data analysis while helping the organization continue to scale. Key Responsibilities Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and supporting documentation Prepare journal entries and support month-end close activities Download, analyze, and transform large data sets into accounting entries Utilize Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and Jet Reports for financial reporting Assist with accounts payable and accounting operations as needed Support fund accounting activities and multi-entity accounting processes Maintain documentation and controls in accordance with SOX-related requirements Partner with operations and other internal teams on accounting initiatives Leverage technology and automation tools to improve accounting workflows Top Priorities for This Role 1. Microsoft Dynamics Business Central experience 2. Jet Reports experience 3. Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large data sets Ideal Background 3-5 years of accounting experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central Strong Excel and data manipulation skills Understanding of SOX controls and documentation requirements Experience in financial services, asset management, private credit, or similar environments is a plus CPA or CPA-track candidates are welcomed What Makes Someone Successful Here?
