Job Description

Overview:
The role As an Accounting Data Governance & Consolidation Lead at QXO supporting the Finance and Accounting organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, consistency, and governance of financial data used across accounting, consolidation, close, and reporting processes. This role serves as a key partner to Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, FP&A, and business finance teams by establishing strong financial data controls, maintaining chart of accounts governance, supporting consolidation activities, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting outputs. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who has evolved from traditional accounting, reporting, or audit roles into financial data governance and reporting support. The successful candidate will possess a strong accounting foundation combined with a passion for financial data quality, controls, reporting, and process improvement.
What you will do:
: Serve as a key partner to Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting teams in maintaining the integrity and governance of financial data used in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Own chart of accounts governance, including account structure, hierarchy management, financial reporting mappings, and accounting metadata standards. Support consolidation and reporting processes by ensuring financial data is complete, accurate, and aligned across legal entities, business units, and reporting structures. Lead reconciliation and validation activities across financial reporting and consolidation processes to ensure consistency and accuracy of reported results. Partner with accounting teams to evaluate the impact of organizational, legal entity, and reporting structure changes on financial reporting and consolidation activities. Support the preparation and analysis of consolidated financial results by maintaining reporting structures, mappings, and governance controls. Establish and maintain financial data governance policies, controls, and documentation supporting SOX compliance and audit readiness. Partner with internal and external auditors by providing documentation, reconciliations, and support for financial reporting and control-related reviews. Support finance stakeholders with reporting requests, financial analysis, hierarchy updates, and issue resolution related to financial data integrity. Identify opportunities to improve close, consolidation, and reporting processes through automation, standardization, and enhanced financial data management practices. Partner with Finance, Accounting, Internal Audit, and IT teams to investigate and resolve financial reporting discrepancies and data quality issues. Maintain governance over financial reporting access, approval workflows, and financial data controls to support segregation of duties and compliance requirements.
What you will bring:
: Strong accounting foundation with experience in Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, Consolidations, Controllership, Audit, or related finance functions. Deep understanding of financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, consolidation processes, close activities, and financial reporting requirements. Experience managing and governing chart of accounts structures, financial hierarchies, reporting dimensions, and accounting metadata. Strong knowledge of SOX controls, financial reporting governance, and internal control frameworks. Experience supporting multi-entity and complex organizational structures within a large corporate environment. Demonstrated ability to reconcile large volumes of financial data, identify variances, investigate root causes, and drive issue resolution. Strong analytical skills with a focus on data quality, accuracy, and financial reporting integrity. Experience partnering with accounting leadership, external auditors, finance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams. Ability to balance technical accounting knowledge with strong financial data management and reporting capabilities. CPA, public accounting, or large-company corporate accounting experience is strongly preferred. Experience supporting consolidation and reporting platforms is preferred.

Pay Range:
USD $121,560.00 - USD $206,640.00 /Yr.
