Position Summary LightBox is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Finance & Accounting team. This internship offers hands-on experience supporting accounting operations, financial reporting, and financial analysis within a dynamic technology-driven organization serving the commercial real estate industry. The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field and is eager to gain practical experience while developing technical and analytical skills in a professional environment. The internship is a minimum of 16 hours per week to be scheduled around your classes in the fall and spring semesters, with more hours available during class breaks (e.g. winter/summer). Key Responsibilities Assist with monthly financial close activities, including preparing and posting journal entries and performing account reconciliations. Review customer revenue contracts to support proper revenue recognition and compliance with company policies and accounting standards under the direction of the Contract Accounting team. Support accounts payable processes. Assist with audit support and documentation requests. Document, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation for key accounting and financial reporting activities. Support process improvement initiatives and automation projects. Conduct research and prepare ad hoc analyses as needed. Qualifications Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Strong academic performance with a demonstrated interest in accounting or finance. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint. Learning Opportunities During this internship, you will: Gain exposure to corporate accounting and financial reporting processes. Learn how financial information supports strategic business decisions. Develop advanced Excel and financial analysis skills. Gain experience reviewing revenue contracts and understanding revenue recognition principles. Learn how artificial intelligence (AI) and automation tools are being leveraged to improve accounting, finance, reporting, and business processes. Work alongside experienced finance and accounting professionals.
