65k - 85k A growing organization is seeking an experienced Payroll Accountant to join its accounting and finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant who enjoys combining payroll processing expertise with general accounting responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. The Payroll Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring accurate payroll processing, maintaining payroll-related financial records, supporting month-end close activities, and ensuring compliance with all applicable payroll regulations. Why You'll Love This Opportunity Join a collaborative and professional accounting team Opportunity to blend payroll and accounting responsibilities High-impact role supporting employees and financial operations Stable organization with opportunities for growth and advancement Exposure to payroll, reconciliations, reporting, and financial analysis Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Accountant As a Payroll Accountant , you will: Process weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly payroll accurately and on schedule Review payroll data for accuracy, including hours worked, deductions, taxes, and benefits Prepare and record payroll journal entries and related accounting transactions Reconcile payroll accounts and ensure alignment with the general ledger Assist with month-end and year-end close activities Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation Support payroll tax reporting and regulatory compliance requirements Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries Assist with benefit reconciliations, garnishments, and other payroll-related deductions Prepare payroll reports and analysis for management Support audits by providing payroll documentation and reconciliations Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure accurate employee and payroll data Preferred Qualifications of the Payroll Accountant Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 3+ years of experience as a Payroll Accountant or similar payroll/accounting role Strong understanding of payroll regulations, payroll taxes, and accounting principles Experience with payroll systems and ERP/accounting software Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities Experience with account reconciliations and journal entries Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
