Contract Pay:
$36-$41/hour A growing organization in the Shelton area is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its accounting team on a temporary basis. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional looking for a hands-on role with a growing company and exposure to a variety of accounting functions. Position Overview The Senior Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations and play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records and reporting. This position will work closely with the accounting team on reconciliations, month-end close, financial reporting, and other accounting activities. Responsibilities Manage and maintain general ledger accounts Prepare and post journal entries Perform account and bank reconciliations Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Prepare and review financial reports and supporting schedules Research and resolve accounting discrepancies Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities Maintain accurate and organized accounting records Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed Support audit and tax-related requests Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and procedures Assist with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred 3+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software or an ERP system Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Position Details This temporary opportunity offers the chance to join a growing organization and contribute to a variety of accounting functions while gaining experience in a dynamic environment.
