Position Summary:
Gerald Metals, based in Stamford, CT, is seeking a highly motivated individual accounting professional to assist in the preparation of books and records in the Accounting Department as well as assist in the financial reporting process. The ideal candidate must have strong data entry, vendor communication, and document control skills as well as proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems. This position is responsible for recording and reconciling daily cash and broker activity while participating in the month-end and year-end close processes.
Responsibilities:
Record and reconcile daily cash receipts and disbursements Review A/P aging reports and follow up on overdue items Prepare monthly bank reconciliations Prepare monthly broker reconciliations Record and reconcile all corporate credit cards accounts Participate in the preparation of the year-end closing Assist the accounting manager with providing analysis and information during the annual audit Prepare bank fees & interest schedules Special projects as assigned
Requirements:
1-3 years accounting experience in a fast-paced demanding environment Data entry skills and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and competing demands Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; strong Excel and general computer skills Strong organizational, communication and presentation skills required
