Job Description
Description Senior Accountant - Real Estate Investment Firm We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join a growing real estate investment organization in Stamford, Connecticut. In this role, you will support core accounting operations for a portfolio of properties while helping deliver timely, accurate financial reporting to leadership. This opportunity offers close collaboration with finance and operational teams in a fast-paced environment where strong analytical skills and attention to detail are highly valued.
Responsibilities:
- Manage month-end activities, including posting journal entries, updating the general ledger, and completing closing tasks on schedule.
- Prepare financial reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting periods and review results for accuracy and consistency.
- Perform account and bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of performance against expectations.
- Evaluate property-level operating results, cash activity, and financial trends to support business decisions.
- Assist with annual audits by organizing supporting documentation and coordinating responses for external auditors.
- Help maintain compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company financial policies.
Requirements Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- At least 2 years of accounting experience, with solid exposure to month-end close processes.
- Hands-on experience with general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Background in real estate, property accounting, or investment management is preferred.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working within accounting software platforms.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and analytical problem-solving ability.
