Full Job Description Federal Staff Accountant Salary:
$95,000 - $125,000/year Kickstart your financial management career with Empirical! We provide technical guidance and advice on accounting, audit, financial reporting, and financial system configuration, financial automation, and implementation matters. We are known for our subject matter expertise, attention to detail, and high-quality, results-oriented outputs.What You'll Do:
Prepare and review financial statements and documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded. Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies. Assist in the monthly closing process, including preparing journal entries and financial reports. Provide management with financial information through research and analysis. Prepare consolidated financial statements and ensure compliance with regulatory guidance. Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (minimum of 24 credit hours in accounting). 2-5 years of experience in accounting, interpreting, and analyzing data. Federal Government Accounting experience preferred Ability to work well in a team environment. Fast learner with a willingness to learn new tasks and business functions. Proficient in MS Office suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. CPA candidate and/or CGFM preferred. Ability to occasionally work extra hours to meet deadlines. Ability to pass a federal background check and/or federal security clearance (U.S. Citizenship may be required for some client engagements). Why You'll Love Working withUs:
