Summary:
Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, assures that the assigned day-to-day operations of general accounting and internal reporting are carried out in accordance with established accounting principles, policies, and objectives.
Responsibilities:
Prepares recurring and adjusting journal entries for cash, prepaid, and other account activity. Maintains cash schedules for weekly managerial reporting. Prepares analyses and supporting schedules for interim management reports, quarterly reviews, and year-end audits. Reports on weekly asset utilization. Interacts in a cooperative and knowledgeable manner with organizational team members as well as outside auditors and customers. Identifies opportunities and process improvements to streamline the monthly close process. Prepares monthly cash and prepaid account reconciliations. Assists in the implementation of internal control procedures to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley. Supports the company's 10-K and 10-Q processes. Complete other projects as requested. Requirements:
Four-year accounting degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience. Successful prior experience with strong emphasis in general or public accounting. Excellent understanding of accounting and auditing principles, analytical analysis, and the ability to be attentive to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with computerized accounting systems in a networked environment. Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word. Experience with Oracle or similar ERP system is preferred, but not required.
