Senior Accountant

Job Title:

Senior Accountant Overview The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing key accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting compliance activities. This role partners closely with finance leadership and cross functional teams to maintain strong controls, improve processes, and support business decision making. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger in accordance with GAAP Oversee Sales and Use Tax compliance, including calculation, filing, reconciliation, and audit support across applicable jurisdictions Assist with the preparation of financial statements and internal management reporting Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to audit inquiries Analyze complex transactions and ensure proper accounting treatment Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls Partner with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Operations to resolve accounting and tax related issues Assist with special projects, system implementations, and ad hoc analysis as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 4 to 7+ years of progressive accounting experience Hands on experience with Sales and Use Tax compliance and filings Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting Experience in month end close and financial reporting Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel Preferred Skills Experience supporting multi state or multi entity environments Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate cross functionally Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gulf Breeze, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.25/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
