full-time The Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounting, will be responsible for a broad range of general accounting and financial reporting activities within a growing manufacturing organization. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, Corporate Accounting, this position will play an important role in supporting the monthly close, account reconciliations, consolidations, fixed assets, financial statement preparation, and accounting for transactions across corporate and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and highly organized, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. The Senior Accountant will work closely with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Operations, Plant/Manufacturing Finance, Technical Accounting, Risk, and other subsidiary accounting teams. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as this individual will regularly partner with accounting and operational leaders to investigate variances, resolve accounting issues, and improve financial processes. Responsibilities The Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounting, responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Prepare monthly corporate journal entries and maintain accurate supporting documentation in accordance with US GAAP. Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations and prepare supporting schedules and rollforwards, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner. Analyze monthly account balances and fluctuations, including identifying and explaining variances from budget, forecast, prior periods, and expected activity. Assist with the monthly consolidation of corporate and manufacturing subsidiaries, including investigating and resolving intercompany balances and variances with subsidiary accounting teams. Review monthly subsidiary reporting packages and assist in preparing consolidated financial schedules, rollforwards, and management reporting. Support accounting for corporate and manufacturing-related fixed assets, including additions, disposals, transfers, depreciation, and capital expenditures. Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the fixed asset subledger and assist with reconciliation to the general ledger. Partner with plant and operational accounting teams to understand significant balance sheet and income statement fluctuations, including activity related to inventory, production, labor, overhead, and other manufacturing-related accounts. Assist with balance sheet and segment fluctuation analysis, investigating significant variances and working directly with subsidiary and manufacturing accounting management to understand and resolve issues. Assist with inventory and manufacturing accounting activities as needed, including reconciliation of inventory-related accounts and investigation of unusual or unexpected activity. Prepare annual standalone and consolidating financial statements for various corporate and subsidiary entities. Assist with general ledger maintenance, including requests for new GL accounts and entities, changes to account hierarchies, and other system-related updates. Support the monthly close and consolidation process, identifying opportunities to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of accounting and reporting. Proactively identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes, reporting procedures, and internal controls, with an emphasis on automation and process optimization. Liaise with internal and external auditors regarding quarterly reviews, annual audits, SOX 404 testing, internal controls, and other accounting-related inquiries. Assist with accounting research and the application of US GAAP to transactions affecting corporate and manufacturing operations. Respond to ad-hoc accounting and financial reporting requests from internal stakeholders, including Finance leadership and Executive Management. Collaborate with FP&A and operational finance teams to provide accurate accounting information and support analysis of manufacturing performance and financial results. Education, Experience & Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA license or active pursuit of CPA certification preferred. 2-3 years of public accounting experience with a large public accounting firm preferred. Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or other operationally complex environment is highly preferred. Strong understanding of US GAAP and fundamental accounting principles. Exposure to inventory accounting, cost accounting, fixed assets, or manufacturing operations is a plus. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience with BlackLine, Oracle, Hyperion, or other large ERP/accounting systems is a plus. Experience with Power Query, Power Automate, SQL, Python, Copilot, or other automation tools is highly preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and identify root causes. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with both accounting and operational teams. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines. Must be a collaborative team player who can work effectively across Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Operations, Plant Finance, and subsidiary accounting teams.
