Job Summary This position is located in Port St. Lucie, FL. Follows established procedures and performs detailed accounting assignments, including federal, state and or/university guidelines, policies and procedures under the direction of senior administration personnel at FIU Center for Translational Science. Reconciles and maintains various accounts, records, reports, and journals to the FIU's Center for Translational Science (CTS). Assists in the month-end and quarter-end close process including variance analysis Prepares journal entries, budgetary transactions and reconciles general ledger and subsidiary accounts. Prepares financial and/or auditor statements and schedules, as needed. Calculates and prepares reimbursement billings, as needed. Reviews and verifies accuracy of data. Assists with special projects related to annual and sponsored research budgets in the Center. Serves as a liaison to the University Community for specialized issues, as needed. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related business field to include a minimum of 6 credits in Accounting; OR four (4) years of appropriate experience to include one (1) year of accounting-related experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
