Description We are looking for a Project Accountant to support the financial oversight of construction-related projects in Doral, Florida. This role will coordinate project cost tracking, billing activity, and vendor-related transactions while helping maintain accurate reporting throughout each project lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee project-level accounting activities, including tracking costs, reviewing financial transactions, and maintaining accurate records from project kickoff through closeout.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes tied to active projects, ensuring invoices, payments, and collections are handled accurately and on time.
  • Prepare and update work-in-progress reports in Excel to provide clear visibility into project status, costs, and financial performance.
  • Monitor project budgets end to end, identify variances, and support financial control across all phases of construction work.
  • Coordinate billing functions, including construction-related invoicing and documentation required to support customer and project billing cycles.
  • Support lien release documentation and owner notice processes, with preference for experience handling related construction compliance paperwork.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with vendors and suppliers to support timely service, accurate billing, and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate inventory, jobsite materials, and supply logistics, including inbound and outbound movement based on project requirements.
  • Serve as a key point of contact between general contractors and suppliers while reconciling project financials on a weekly basis to ensure accuracy and alignment.

  • Experience in project accounting, preferably within construction or project-driven environments.
  • Knowledge of construction accounting practices, including cost tracking, budgeting, and project reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in Excel for maintaining reports, analyzing project activity, and monitoring work in progress.
  • Familiarity with AIA billing and construction invoicing processes.
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships and coordinate effectively with subcontractors, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Understanding of project logistics, inventory coordination, and material distribution in support of construction operations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Quickbooks desktop is a must
