Full Job Description Client Overview:
Our client, a private equity firm with an office in Miami and headquarters in the Northeast, is seeking to add a Senior Fund Accountant to its Accounting Department. The firm is well-established in the industry and continues to grow rapidly, offering strong exposure to complex fund accounting and investment operations.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$100k - $115k
Position Overview:
The Senior Fund Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting across multiple funds. This role partners closely with investment and operations teams to ensure accuracy, compliance with GAAP, and adherence to fund governing documents. The position offers strong exposure to leadership responsibilities within a growing private equity environment. Responsibilities of the
Senior Fund Accountant:
Work closely with Investment and Operations teams to ensure accuracy of accounting books. Monitor investments and analyze performance to support decision-making. Manage accounting processes and prepare/approve quarterly financial reports, compliance documentation, and investor reporting. Ensure compliance with fund governing documents and GAAP standards. Research and apply accounting guidance to support technical conclusions. Review call/distribution notices, credit line draw/paydown notices, partner capital statements, and investor letters. Liaise with Investor Services regarding distributions and investor inquiries. Assist in quarterly valuation reviews for portfolio investments. Prepare analyses and responses for Investment and Origination teams. Participate in special projects as needed. Required Experience/Skills for the
Senior Fund Accountant:
Minimum of 3 years of fund accounting experience within Private Equity. Strong Excel and financial analysis skills. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Experience/Skills for the
Senior Fund Accountant:
CPA designation highly preferred. Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Self-motivated problem solver with a positive, team-oriented mindset. Experience in private equity or alternative investment accounting.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. Master's degree preferred. CPA certification preferred. Continuing education in GAAP and investment accounting standards is a plus.
