$90,000 - $110,000, depending on experience About the Opportunity ttg Talent Solutions is seeking a Senior Project Accountant for a well-established company in the construction industry. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in project-based accounting, job costing, WIP reporting, AIA billing, and construction financial reporting . The Senior Project Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial performance of assigned construction projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking, revenue recognition, reporting, and collaboration with project managers and operational teams. Key Responsibilities Monitor project costs, analyze spending trends, and identify opportunities to improve margins and financial performance. Prepare and review project-level financial reports, including WIP schedules, cost-to-complete analysis, variance reports, and profitability updates. Support budgeting, forecasting, and project financial projections. Manage job cost accounting, revenue recognition, and percentage-of-completion reporting. Review AIA billing, progress billing, change orders, and construction contract documentation. Partner with project managers, procurement, and operations teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting. Maintain and improve cost accounting processes, reporting tools, and internal controls. Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, procedures, and contract requirements. Support inventory-related reconciliations and cost accuracy as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within construction, engineering, mechanical contracting, HVAC, or a project-based environment. Strong experience with construction accounting, job costing, WIP reporting, and cost-to-complete analysis. Knowledge of AIA billing, progress billing, and construction contract structures is required. Understanding of percentage-of-completion revenue recognition. Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as Sage or similar platforms. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and financial reporting.
