Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting activity and ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and on schedule.
- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
- Lead assigned month-end close tasks, including review of balances, supporting schedules, and reporting deadlines.
- Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Support the corporate accounting team as work is consolidated from numerous divisions into a centralized structure.
- Maintain detailed account analyses and documentation to support audits, internal review, and financial reporting needs.
- Partner with colleagues across the accounting function to keep routine operations running smoothly while broader process improvement efforts continue.
- Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and process support within a real estate-focused environment. Requirements
- Demonstrated experience performing month-end close activities in a corporate or multi-entity accounting environment.
- Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.
- Proven ability to complete account reconciliations and bank reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.
- Hands-on accounting background with the ability to manage day-to-day financial tasks independently.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
- Real estate accounting experience is preferred.
- Experience with E1 is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting and manage shifting priorities.
