Description We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented accounting specialist to support unregulated property accounting activities in Juno Beach, Florida. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can combine technical accounting knowledge with strong judgment, attention to detail, and a practical approach to financial reporting. The role will contribute to policy development, transaction analysis, and ongoing compliance efforts while partnering with internal stakeholders to strengthen accounting operations and reporting quality.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct technical accounting research and translate findings into clear policy guidance that supports accurate financial reporting and business decision-making.
  • Evaluate complex transactions to determine appropriate accounting treatment in line with applicable standards and the economic substance of each arrangement.
  • Manage core accounting activities such as month-end close tasks, journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of supporting schedules.
  • Monitor updates to accounting guidance and regulatory developments, then communicate impacts and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Prepare management reports and assist with internal and external financial reporting deliverables in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Apply internal controls and company policies consistently to protect the integrity of financial data and maintain compliance across accounting processes.
  • Lead special projects and provide day-to-day direction or support to team members involved in accounting operations and reporting initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency across financial processes and ERP-supported activities. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline is required; an advanced accounting degree is preferred.
  • 6 to 10 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, policy interpretation, or compliance-focused roles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical accounting research, policy development, and application of authoritative accounting guidance.
  • Hands-on experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Experience using ERP or financial systems such as Oracle, SAP, Excalibur, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • Background in acquisition or divestiture accounting, property accounting, or oil and gas industry accounting is a plus.
