Accountant Accountant responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following: Engage and support the daily and critical aspects of accounting; general ledger through financial statements Responsible for month end closing process, including journal entries, accounts reconciliations, updating of account schedules, calculation and entry of accruals Preparation of general ledger entries and reconciliations for month-end closing to close books in a timely manner Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards; monitoring and reporting key performance indicators Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns for multiple entities, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting or other local, state and federal tax requirements Review daily, weekly, monthly financial reports as requested/required Prepares and/or reviews journal entries to ensure their propriety and accuracy Assist with the internal and external financial and tax audits and examination processes, including assisting with the preparation of audited financial statements, footnotes and supplemental information Understand and advocate the accounting processes and procedures to internal business partners Foster communication between external and internal customers
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or relevant field 2+ years accounting and/or relevant work experience; SAP, EP and Audit experience a plus Previous experience McLeod and Cargowise Transportation Management software a plus Previous experience with Financial Management and Business Intelligence software; Oracle Cloud and PowerBI a plus Applied knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP) and relevant regulations Ability to communicate with internal and external business partners at all levels throughout the organization Analytical skills with the ability to create and implement business process improvements Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel & Internet applications. Must possess the ability to meet deadlines, work well under pressure, prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, and maintain discretion on confidential matters Due to the nature of the job, ability to read, write, and speak English fluently; Spanish a plus
