Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Handle daily cash activity, including bank transactions and recurring reconciliations for multiple entities and accounts.
- Support accounts receivable and accounts payable operations by preparing customer invoices, processing payments, and maintaining accurate transaction records.
- Maintain mortgage-related accounting records by setting up new loan entries, applying payments, documenting payoffs, and responding to resident account inquiries.
- Prepare and review balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations on a regular schedule to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Assist Controllers with financial reporting support, journal entry preparation, and other assigned accounting projects.
- Contribute to monthly accounting cycles by helping with sales tax filings, payroll reconciliations, and month-end close activities as needed.
- Protect sensitive financial information by following sound recordkeeping practices and maintaining confidentiality across all accounting files.
- Promote a collaborative and safety-focused work environment while collaborating effectively with coworkers and supporting additional departmental needs when required. Requirements
- Experience in accounting with hands-on responsibility for general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including billing, payment processing, and transaction tracking.
- Ability to support month-end close tasks with strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate financial reporting.
- Familiarity with bank reconciliations across multiple accounts or business entities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage recurring deadlines and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear communication skills for working with internal teams and responding professionally to account-related questions.
- Ability to handle confidential financial data with discretion and maintain dependable documentation practices.
