What you get to do:
The Financial Reporting Accountant needs to be a dynamic and experienced accountant who is able to multi-task, work well independently and in a team setting, be detail oriented and meet deadlines. This position reports to the Financial Reporting Manager with a dotted-line to the Tax Director and will play a critical role in the Company's SEC financial reporting, equity-based compensation and tax accounting tasks. Assist in the preparation of all of the Company's SEC filings (Forms 10K, 10Q, 8K, proxy) to ensure quality and timely compliance. Assist in preparing the GAAP Checklist to ensure compliance with Accounting Guidance. Review and approve XBRL tagging for all relevant filings. Maintain appropriate supporting documentation for earnings press releases, earnings call scripts, all financial SEC filings and proxy statements, including preparation of detailed tie outs. Prepare the accounting for equity compensation plans and the reconciliation of shares outstanding with the transfer agent. Prepare certain footnote disclosures for quarterly and annual SEC filings. Prepare relevant journal entries as assigned on a monthly basis. Prepare monthly journal entries and quarterly financial statements for holding company. Assist in the preparation of the quarterly debt compliance package to ensure compliance. Prepare monthly internal park consolidating financial statements for distribution to senior executive leadership on a monthly basis. Prepare monthly sales and use tax return filings Assist with data gathering for tax compliance and reporting Assist with tax payment requests and correspondence with taxing authorities Coordinate with Form 5500 filing and 401K financial statement preparation. Assist audit and SOX requests for relevant areas of accounting. Assist corporate accounting team with workload and review relevant areas during close (may include preparing journal entries and reconciliations).
What it takes to succeed:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting Master's degree in Accounting or MBA preferred Certified Public Accountant preferred Must have at least 2+ years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year of public accounting experience preferred Experience in accounting for equity-based compensation and/or taxes preferred Excellent analytical, financial, and mathematical skills with attention to detail Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes in a fast-paced work environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge of current and evolving best practices and industry trends Ability to work independently while demonstrating sound judgment and decision-making skills to ensure quality of work meets expected standards The perks of the position: Paid Time Off Complimentary Park Tickets and Passes Park Discounts on Food and Merchandise Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance 401K Retirement plan
