JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant is responsible for general ledger maintenance, financial statement preparation and account reconciliation. Responsible for assisting with the management of the company's financial records, ensuring compliance with accepted accounting principles and company procedures.

None.
Essential Job Functions:
Prepares and enters monthly journal entries. Maintains and reconciles various ledger accounts including assets, liabilities, and capital accounts. Has a leading role in the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close processes. Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements. Analyzes financial data and produce financial reports for management review. Prepare monthly account reconciliations and follow up to clear reconciling items. Researches and corrects account discrepancies. Assists in the preparation of local, state, and federal tax returns. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Analyzes budget variances and provide feedback to management. Collaborates with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations for the annual audit. Assists with internal audits and ensure implementation of recommended improvements. Participates in special financial projects as required. Recommends improvements to accounting processes and procedures. Stays updated with industry trends and the latest best practices. Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities:
Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations, including accrual-based accounting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software. Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports and financial management. Ability to perform filing and record-keeping tasks. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent mathematical skills. High attention to detail Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively. Ability to build relationships and interact positively with employees, management staff and customers. Ability to identify issues, address them and provide effective solutions.
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or Finance required. Masters degree in Accounting preferred
Experience:
Minimum three years of experience as staff accountant and reconciling bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
