Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries accurately and on a timely basis as part of the monthly close cycle. Record and reconcile depreciation schedules across fixed asset accounts. Perform account reconciliations and ensure all balances are clean, current, and tied out. Prepare sales tax filings and ensure timely and accurate submission in compliance with applicable requirements. Handle cash and deposit processing with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Provide coverage and support across accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed. Assist with additional accounting tasks and special projects during close week, including occasional overtime. Requirements Solid foundational understanding of accounting principles — debits, credits, and the relationship between financial statements. Proficiency in Excel, including basic formulas, worksheet formatting, and filtering and sorting data. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks accurately within defined deadlines. Comfortable working in an open, collaborative office environment with regular team interaction. Willingness to flex hours during close week when deadlines demand it. Experience with a mid-market ERP or accounting system — familiarity with cloud-based or Microsoft-based platforms a plus. Background in or exposure to nonprofit or mission-driven organizations a plus.
