Job Description

CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT
(CPA)
COMPENSATION
  • Base salary $85K to $110K (Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications)

LOCATION
Tampa, Florida, onsite with travel to Sarasota, Florida (Frequency dependent on season).
FIRM OVERVIEW
Growing tax preparation and advisory practice backed by an established investment advisory group serving high net worth individuals, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations with integrated tax accounting and financial guidance
OPPORTUNITY
This is not a traditional firm role You will help build and lead a tax and accounting function from the ground up Direct access to leadership and an existing client base Clear path toward long-term leadership and team-building responsibility
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare and file tax returns for individuals, businesses, trusts, and nonprofit organizations from start to finish
  • Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services for high-net-worth individuals and business owners
  • Develop tax saving strategies tailored to client needs
  • Conduct tax research and support resolution of complex tax matters
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business development
  • Assist in growing the practice, including managing staff and evaluating potential acquisitions
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • Active Certified Public Accountant CPA license
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
  • 4 plus years tax and accounting experience
  • 3 to 5 years public accounting tax experience including
  • S corporation returns
  • C corporation returns
  • Partnership returns
  • Trust returns
  • Individual returns
  • Multi state tax filings
  • Strong analytical organizational and project management skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client engagements
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
  • Experience with R and D credits and other business tax credits
  • Masters degree in Accounting Finance Economics or related field
  • Experience with payroll tax filings including
  • Form 940
  • Form 941
  • FUTA filings
  • State withholding filings
  • W 2 reporting
  • 1099 reporting
  • Ability to analyze small business financial and operational performance and provide actionable recommendations
