Senior Staff Accountant Location:

About the Role We're seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to take ownership of core accounting functions and play a key role in our month-end close, financial reporting, and process improvement efforts. This role suits a self-directed accountant who can work with minimal supervision, mentor junior team members, and partner cross-functionally to keep our financials accurate and audit-ready. Key Responsibilities Own significant portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensuring deadlines are met Prepare and review complex journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules with limited oversight Perform variance analysis and provide commentary to management Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including escalated vendor and customer matters Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies Administer corporate credit card and expense reporting programs Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors and prepare audit schedules Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 3+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong working knowledge of GAAP and the full accounting cycle Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis) Demonstrated ability to manage the close process and meet tight deadlines Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to work independently and prioritize competing demands Preferred CPA license or active candidacy Experience with Sage, SAP, Net Suite, or Foundation Experience within the construction industry or at a high-growth company a major plus Prior experience mentoring or supervising accounting staff What We Offer Competitive salary and performance-based bonus potential Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Professional development and CPA support A supportive team and a clear path to leadership
Pay:
$72,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
