Staff Accountant Job Summary:

A Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes. They ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and comply with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries. Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts. Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records. Prepare financial statements and management reports. Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies. Support audits by providing documentation and explanations. Monitor and maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and internal controls. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 1-3 years of accounting experience (varies by employer). Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
