Job Description

About the Role We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented accounting professional to join our Accounting Department. This position is ideal for someone with strong accounting fundamentals who is comfortable working independently, analyzing financial information, identifying discrepancies, and helping maintain accurate and efficient accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), QuickBooks, Excel, reconciliations, and general accounting functions , along with excellent organizational and analytical skills. This is a mid-to-upper-level position with the opportunity to take ownership of assigned accounting responsibilities and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Accounting Department.

Exempt Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain assigned Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions Enter, review, and reconcile accounting transactions for accuracy and completeness Process invoices, payments, customer receipts, and account adjustments Assist with customer account balances, collections, and payment follow-up Perform account and bank reconciliations and research discrepancies Review accounting data for accuracy and identify unusual or incorrect transactions Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and financial analyses as needed Utilize Excel to organize, analyze, and interpret accounting data Maintain accurate and well-organized accounting records and supporting documentation Assist with improving accounting procedures, controls, and workflow efficiency Work closely with other departments to resolve accounting and billing issues Assist management with accounting research, reporting, and special projects Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information
Qualifications:
3+ years of accounting experience , preferably in a mid-level or senior accounting role Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Experience with QuickBooks Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel , including formulas, sorting/filtering, and data analysis Understanding of general ledger accounting and account reconciliations Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and deadlines Ability to identify discrepancies and independently research and resolve issues Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally Preferred Qualifications Experience in the transportation, trucking, logistics, or service industry Experience working with high-volume transactions Experience with billing, collections, or customer account management Experience with financial reporting and month-end close Experience identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency What We're Looking For We are looking for more than someone who can simply enter transactions.
