Type:

full-time About the Opportunity Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their accounting team. This is a hands-on role for an accounting professional who is comfortable taking ownership of the general ledger, managing month-end close activities, and analyzing financial information to ensure accuracy and completeness. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, a highly analytical mindset, and the ability to understand and clearly explain accounting processes. Experience with Sage Intacct is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day general ledger accounting activities and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and timely. Take ownership of the full month-end close process , including journal entries, account reconciliations, adjustments, and corrections. Prepare and post standard and recurring journal entries. Record and reconcile payroll-related accounting entries. Perform detailed balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations. Research discrepancies and make appropriate accounting adjustments and corrections. Analyze financial activity and identify unusual trends, variances, or inconsistencies. Develop a strong understanding of accounting processes and be able to clearly explain the why and how behind those processes. Assist with financial reporting and other accounting analyses as needed. Help identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiency. Collaborate with internal teams to obtain information and resolve accounting issues.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience , with strong general ledger experience. Demonstrated experience managing or significantly contributing to a full-cycle month-end close . Strong understanding of journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, adjustments, payroll accounting, and financial statement activity. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to investigate an accounting issue, determine the appropriate resolution, and clearly communicate the reasoning. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with others. Sage Intacct experience is highly desired.

The successful candidate will be a strong GL accountant who understands the entire accounting process , can identify and resolve issues, and can confidently explain their work.
