2-7 years preferred Position Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for recording, analyzing, and maintaining accurate financial information while assisting with the preparation of financial reports. This position will support monthly close activities, account reconciliations, bookkeeping, financial analysis, tax filings, and other accounting functions while ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company guidelines. Responsibilities Perform general ledger activities, including monthly close and preparation of timely and accurate financial statements and supporting schedules. Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations. Perform bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable functions. Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for completeness and accuracy. Establish and initiate wire transfers and payments through company banking accounts and payment portals. Provide timely and accurate assistance to internal and external customers. Analyze financial information and complete variance analyses. Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports as needed. Identify, research, and assist with the resolution of moderately complex accounting issues and projects. Prepare required tax filings. Assist with internal controls and related compliance requirements. Analyze and maintain the fixed asset system. Assist with preparing schedules and documentation for internal and external audits. Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. 2-7 years of accounting experience preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced Excel skills required. Experience with financial reporting, including SEC or other regulatory reporting, preferred. Strong customer service and communication skills. Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently. Ability to analyze and resolve complex accounting issues. Strong multitasking and time-management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics GP, or Oracle. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technology and accounting systems. CPA or CPA candidate preferred, but not required. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an organized and detail-oriented accounting professional who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and confidently analyze financial information.
