full-time We are seeking an experienced Senior Fund Accountant to join a growing investment organization in Atlanta. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with a strong foundation in fund accounting, investment accounting, and financial reporting who wants to take on a meaningful role within a sophisticated organization. This role is in the office 3 days a week. The ideal candidate will come from a Big 4 or large regional public accounting firm with experience auditing investment funds , or from a fund-administration/investment-services organization such as SS&C or State Street . Candidates should have a strong understanding of fund structures, financial statements, and the accounting requirements associated with investment funds. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review financial statements and financial reporting for investment funds. Perform and review fund accounting activities, including reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and NAV-related processes. Analyze investment activity, capital transactions, income, expenses, and other fund-level activity. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Coordinate with external auditors and support the annual fund audit process. Review audit schedules, supporting documentation, and financial statement disclosures. Research and resolve accounting and reporting issues related to fund activity. Partner with internal teams, fund administrators, auditors, and other external service providers. Assist with process improvements and enhancements to fund accounting and reporting procedures. Maintain strong internal controls and ensure accounting activity is accurate and completed timely. Support special projects and other accounting initiatives as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3+ years of relevant accounting experience , preferably within investment management, private equity, real estate funds, hedge funds, or another alternative investment environment.

Required:

Fund audit experience from a Big 4 or large regional public accounting firm OR fund accounting experience with a recognized fund administrator/investment services firm. Strong understanding of fund accounting principles and financial reporting. Experience working with investment fund financial statements and audit processes. Strong Excel skills and the ability to work with large amounts of financial data. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications CPA or actively pursuing a CPA. Experience with private equity, real estate, hedge funds, or alternative investments. Experience working directly with external auditors. Experience with fund administration platforms or investment accounting systems. Public accounting experience auditing investment funds is highly valued. Ideal Background We are particularly interested in candidates coming from: Big 4: Deloitte, PwC, EY, or KPMG Large regional public accounting firms with a strong investment/fund audit practice Fund administrators / investment services: SS&C, State Street, and similar organizations Public accounting professionals who have specifically audited private equity, hedge, real estate, or other investment funds This is not a traditional corporate Senior Accountant position. Candidates should have meaningful, hands-on exposure to fund accounting or auditing investment funds .
