Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a long-term contract opportunity based in Carrollton, Texas. This role will help keep critical financial activities on track by managing key close processes, payroll-related accounting, and oversight of payables and cash activity. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end close activities, including preparation and review of reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll-related balances.
• Process payroll accurately and ensure payroll transactions are completed in a timely manner.
• Review and authorize invoices within the accounts payable workflow to maintain accuracy and proper approval controls.
• Approve cash book activity and monitor cash-related entries for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare and post payroll journal entries to the general ledger in accordance with accounting standards.
• Provide accounting support during the transition of payroll responsibilities from the accounting function to the HR team.
• Help maintain continuity of daily accounting operations by addressing workload gaps and prioritizing time-sensitive financial tasks.
