This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant who enjoys variety and wants exposure beyond traditional month-end accounting. In addition to owning key areas of the accounting cycle, this individual will assist with governmental, state, and multi-state regulatory requirements as the organization continues to grow. Prior experience with these regulatory responsibilities is a plus but not required. Why This Opportunity Stands Out Broad exposure across the full accounting cycle Opportunity to expand your experience into multi-state compliance and regulatory matters Hands-on position with meaningful ownership and visibility Growing organization with opportunities for continued professional development Exposure to both traditional accounting and operational finance Opportunity to improve processes and create efficiencies Great fit for someone who enjoys variety rather than a narrowly defined accounting role Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Reporting Support and execute month-end and year-end close activities Prepare and post journal entries Perform general ledger and balance sheet account reconciliations Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions Prepare customer invoices and assist with billing activities Assist with cash application and light collections as needed Prepare and analyze financial reports and account activity Research and resolve accounting discrepancies Maintain accurate supporting documentation and accounting records Assist with audit requests and year-end reporting Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed Regulatory & Multi-State Compliance Assist with governmental and state regulatory filings and requirements Manage and maintain Secretary of State registrations and related filings Support multi-state nexus research, registrations, and compliance requirements Assist with Department of Labor registrations, reporting, and related matters Coordinate registered agent information and requirements across applicable states Track filing deadlines, renewals, registrations, and other compliance obligations Research new regulatory requirements as the organization expands into additional states Partner with internal leadership and outside advisors to ensure timely and accurate compliance Inventory & Operational Accounting Assist with inventory accounting, reconciliations, and reporting Support inventory-related journal entries and account analysis Partner with operational teams to investigate discrepancies and improve financial accuracy Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes and internal controls Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required 3+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred Strong general ledger and month-end close experience Experience with journal entries and account reconciliations Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and financial reporting QuickBooks experience preferred Strong Microsoft Excel skills Strong research and problem-solving abilities Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities Comfortable learning new regulatory and compliance requirements Self-starter who can work independently and take ownership of responsibilities Preferred Background Manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, logistics, or service industry experience Inventory accounting experience is a strong plus but not required Exposure to multi-state business operations or regulatory compliance Experience with Secretary of State filings, nexus requirements, Department of Labor matters, or registered agents is a plus but not required Experience working within a small to mid-sized organization where accounting professionals wear multiple hats Interested?
