We blend creativity with functionality to deliver exceptional spaces for our clients. We're seeking an Accountant who is excited to be more than just a bookkeeper. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in managing the financial operations of a growing small business, with a particular focus on inventory accounting, product costing, and supporting business decisions that directly impact our success. You'll work closely with ownership, office staff, and warehouse operations while helping ensure the financial health of the organization.

Part Time 15-20 hours per wk Position Overview The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and support strategic decision-making. This role requires someone who is organized, analytical, and comfortable working in a creative, fast-paced retail and design environment. This is an in-person position . While the schedule is part time hours and flexible between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., a successful candidate must be available to attend the weekly in-person team meeting at 10:00 a.m. on Mondays . Morning and early afternoon availability is preferred due to regular collaboration with warehouse staff and operational team members. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Bookkeeping Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries Manage accounts payable and receivable Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and vendor accounts Retail & Inventory Support Track inventory costs and assist with margin analysis Review freight claims and track the appropriate financial compensation Monitor purchase orders, vendor invoices, and product costing Assist in establishing and maintaining vendor accounts including insights regarding purchasing tiers and efficient ordering practices and payment structures Compliance & Administration Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations Assist with sales tax reporting and filings Support audits and work with external accountants/CPA Maintain organized financial documentation and systems Coordinate employee onboarding, including paperwork, system setup, and orientation Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with labor regulations Administer employee benefits (health insurance, retirement plans, PTO tracking, etc.) Serve as point of contact for employee questions regarding payroll, benefits, and policies Help maintain and update employee handbook and company policies Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2-5+ years of accounting or finance experience Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks online) Experience with Google Workspace (Docs, sheets, Drive) Strong Excel skills and attention to detail Understanding of inventory-based accounting preferred Excellent organizational and time management skills Preferred Traits Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial team members Proactive, problem-solving mindset Comfortable working in a small business environment Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly rate varies based on experience level Employee discounts on store products Opportunities for growth within a creative business Schedule & Work Environment Part-time position averaging 15-20 hours per week.
