full-time MyStaff is working with a respected Omaha nonprofit organization to identify a Staff Accountant to join its Finance team. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys mission-driven work and wants to be part of an organization that makes a meaningful impact in the community. What You'll Do Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger accounts Perform account reconciliations and research/resolve discrepancies Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and close processes Support accounting for restricted and unrestricted funds, contributions, program revenue and other nonprofit revenue streams Assist with consolidating financial information across multiple entities and programs Support the annual audit, including schedules, documentation and communication with external auditors Assist with Form 990 and related state filings Support accounts payable, accounts receivable and billing activities Help strengthen internal controls and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes Partner with departments across the organization to support accurate and timely financial information What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field 2+ years of progressive accounting experience Nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred Understanding of GAAP and fund accounting Experience with accounting software/financial systems Strong Excel skills, including formulas, tables and data analysis Excellent attention to detail, organization and follow-through Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet month-end, year-end and audit deadlines Why Consider This Opportunity?
