Job Description

Support a growing reinsurance function by compiling, analyzing, and presenting financial information to senior leadership, management committees, and regulatory bodies. Own accounting activities related to new and existing reinsurance arrangements, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of complex transactions. Prepare, review, and maintain financial records and reporting for complex general ledger accounts, including development of automated or system‑based entries where appropriate. Partner cross‑functionally with actuarial, underwriting, finance, and leadership teams to onboard new reinsurance opportunities and align accounting treatment. Develop and analyze expense data to support bi‑annual forecasting, annual budgeting, and longer‑term financial planning initiatives. Build and maintain financial models, forecasts, and ad hoc reporting to support business and reinsurance strategy. Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff, including assigning work, reviewing outputs, and providing ongoing coaching and performance feedback. Participate in interim and year‑end audit processes, serving as a key contact for audit requests related to reinsurance and insurance accounting. Prepare and submit required regulatory and statutory filings accurately and on time. Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure consistency and compliance as the business evolves. Stay current on technical accounting and industry developments through ongoing training and professional development. Lead or support special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
