Our firm provides tax, accounting, and consulting services to individuals and small businesses. We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper/Staff Accountant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who is looking to step away from the demands of large public accounting firm, or for someone returning to the workforce who is seeking meaningful work with a flexible schedule. The ideal candidate will have several years of public accounting experience and be comfortable handling a variety of bookkeeping, payroll, and tax-related responsibilities for small business and individual clients. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is detail-oriented, can work independently, and maintains a high level of professionalism. Responsibilities Perform bookkeeping services for clients Reconcile bank and credit card accounts Process payroll and prepare related payroll tax returns Prepare and file sales tax returns Prepare individual and business income tax returns Perform administrative duties as needed Communicate professionally and effectively with clients and team members Manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality Work independently with minimal supervision Qualifications Associate or bachelor's degree with coursework in accounting preferred Strong bookkeeping experience required Several years of public accounting experience preferred QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, and/or Sage 50 experience is a plus Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Professional demeanor and commitment to providing excellent client service Dependable, organized, and able to meet deadlines What We Offer Hourly compensation commensurate with experience Flexible scheduling options Fridays off June, July, and August Retirement plan available to qualified employees Opportunity to work with a variety of small business and individual clients Meaningful work with the flexibility to achieve a healthy work-life balance If you are an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working independently, takes pride in your work, and is looking for a flexible position with a growing firm, we would love to hear from you.
