Contract Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant for a contract engagement with a dynamic organization in the Iowa City area. This role is ideal for someone who can step in quickly, take ownership of key accounting functions, and ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Assist with financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP Support budgeting and forecasting activities Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies Assist with audit preparation and provide support during external audits Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and leadership teams Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a mid-to-large organization Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, or similar) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities Preferred Qualifications CPA or CPA eligibility preferred Experience supporting audits and process improvements Prior experience in a contract or project-based role is a plus Why This Role Opportunity to make an immediate impact within a reputable organization Gain exposure to a collaborative and fast-paced accounting team Competitive pay and potential for assignment extension Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
