Senior Corporate Accountant (Coeur dAlene)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, and reconciling accounts for corporate and log procurement accounts. The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for working with the Assistant Controller to implement and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance. Their responsibilities also include assisting with audits, tax filings, and special projects as needed. Attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles are essential for success in this role. Communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization contributes to the overall success of the finance function.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances, including accounts receivable subledgers, accounts payable subledgers and approve specific journal entries to maintain accuracy and compliance with accounting standards related to corporate accounting and log procurement. Independently prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations. Review revenue and expense transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness in accordance with accounting principles and company policies. Analyze revenue and expense variances, identifying trends and anomalies to provide insights into business performance. Assist the Assistant Controller in preparing accurate and timely corporate financial statements, providing critical insights and analysis as needed. Participate in or lead process improvement projects to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the accounting department and across the organization. Prepare and file monthly, quarterly and yearly tax filings. Conduct regular reviews of financial procedures and systems to identify areas for improvement. Other duties as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in accounting. 2+ years of relevant experience. Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Extensive knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook Ability to deal professionally, courteously, and tactfully with the public and coworkers. Ability to pass a hair follicle drug test, post-offer pre-employment physical, and background check.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Driver's License Experience with log procurement accounting. CPA certification Public accounting experience Proficiency in Microsoft Great Plains and
