Staff Accountant

IMS Buhrke-Olson, an industry leader in precision metal stamping and assembly with manufacturing locations in the US and Mexico, is seeking a Staff Accountant for its Arlington Heights, IL facility. Job Functions Prepare and record certain journal entries in the appropriate systems Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and analysis variances Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting schedules. Assist in developing and recommending benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of the division Maintain fixed asset accounts and record into F/A system. Prepare various schedules for monthly management review and quarterly financial review. Assist and accumulate necessary information for year-end audit, bank audit, and tax returns Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions Assist Controller on special projects Competencies (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the job successfully.) - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required. - Minimum of 3 years of related work experience. Experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in a manufacturing environment. Work requires professional written / verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to multitask. This role requires technical software skills and experience in ERP Systems (previous experience with Epicor a plus), Microsoft Office, and advanced Excel skills. - Must have excellent communication skills including written, verbal, and interpersonal. Fluency in Spanish is a plus - Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and advanced skills in Excel. Epicor software experience is desirable, but not required.
