Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper. In this role, you will perform core accounting functions, ensure accurate financial record-keeping. Your expertise will help maintain compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal controls. Duties Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including data entry, accounts payable and receivable management, and bank reconciliations using software such as QuickBooks or Sage. Prepare weekly payroll, including filing weekly payroll tax deposits, monthly State Unemployment Reports, Quarterly and Annual Federal and State Payroll Reports. Prepare and file monthly Sales Tax Returns. Prepare and analyze journal entries, balance sheets, general ledger accounts, and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness. Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing financial statements and conducting account analysis. Handle confidential information with integrity while managing sensitive financial data securely. Qualifications Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles with a strong understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and journal entries. Proficiency in financial software including QuickBooks or Sage. Familiarity with GAAP standards is highly desirable. Experience working in public accounting or corporate accounting environments is preferred. Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office Suite—especially Excel for data analysis—and familiarity with spreadsheets for financial reporting. Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for account reconciliation and balance sheet accuracy. Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while demonstrating strong organizational skills. Effective communication skills for supporting customer service.
