Build Your Career Beyond Traditional Accounting Turano Baking Company is a family-owned bakery with over 60 years of experience producing high-quality breads and rolls for customers nationwide. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly analytical and motivated Project Accountant to join our Finance team. This newly created position offers a unique opportunity to work across accounting, financial analysis, compliance, costing, and strategic projects while partnering with leaders throughout the organization. This is an ideal role for an accounting professional who enjoys variety, solving complex problems, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Position Overview The Project Accountant will support financial planning, compliance, reporting, cost analysis, and special projects across the organization. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be a versatile team player who can think critically, identify opportunities for improvement, and help strengthen financial processes throughout the business. Key Responsibilities Financial Analysis & Costing Maintain and update pricing and costing models Analyze pricing trends and prepare financial reports Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities Assist with sales analysis and special financial projects Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting and operational efficiency Compliance & Government Reporting Prepare and file sales and use tax returns across multiple states Maintain business licenses and annual state filings Respond to government reporting and census requests Support regulatory and compliance-related activities Auditing & Internal Controls Review financial statements and accounting records to support audit readiness Assist with internal and external audits Help strengthen accounting controls and financial processes Research accounting issues and recommend solutions Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, cost accounting, auditing, or project accounting Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is a plus Food manufacturing experience is helpful but not required What We're Looking For Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly and effectively Continuous improvement mindset Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment Leadership potential and desire for long-term growth Why Join Turano?
