Senior Accountant

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionLHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Senior Accountant that will support all accounting and activities for a growing construction and real estate development. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a public accounting foundation, an active CPA, and hands-on exposure to the construction and real estate industries. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in month end close, financial statement preparation, job cost analysis, revenue recognition, and compliance while supporting the Controller and broader finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead month-end close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies Support construction and real estate accounting workflows including job cost tracking, contract accounting, WIP schedules, billings, and revenue recognition Prepare and analyze balance sheet and P&L variances; present insights to management Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning as needed Coordinate with external auditors, including preparation of audit support schedules

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Active CPA required or on track Public accounting experience required (Big 4 or mid tier firms preferred) Experience in construction and/or real estate accounting strongly preferred Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with construction accounting systems is a plus Strong analytical abilities, detail orientation, and communication skills

Compensation:
