$75,000 - $85,000 per year Job Details - We are currently seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Permanent Cost Accountant to join our dynamic Accounting and Finance team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our thriving organization's financial health by managing and optimizing our cost structures. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in analyzing manufacturing costs, providing detailed reports, and suggesting changes to enhance profitability. This role requires a deep understanding of manufacturing accounting, general ledger (GL) management, and cost reduction strategies.
Responsibilities:
Managing and overseeing all aspects of our cost accounting system and practices. Analyzing and interpreting complex manufacturing costs and preparing detailed reports to be presented to management. Conducting regular audits to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger. Implementing cost standards for materials and labor. Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Identifying and executing cost reduction opportunities across the organization. Collaborating with various departments, including production and supply chain, to gather necessary data for cost analysis. Maintaining internal control documentation and testing internal controls. Preparing monthly and quarterly accounting reports for submission to management. Conducting inventory reserve analysis on a quarterly basis and generating reports for management. Assisting in month end close of the General Ledger. Conducting research and performing analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability.
Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, or similar role. Extensive knowledge of cost accounting principles and procedures. Proficiency in manufacturing accounting, GL, and cost reduction. Exceptional proficiency with MS Office and accounting software, preferably within our current system. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
