Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable activities to help ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
- Process vendor invoices, payment batches, and employee expense submissions while applying company guidelines and approval standards.
- Create customer billing, track open receivables, post cash activity, and assist with follow-up efforts on outstanding accounts.
- Review and reconcile purchase orders to maintain proper documentation and support accurate financial tracking.
- Complete bank, credit card, and selected balance sheet reconciliations, researching differences and resolving issues promptly.
- Prepare journal entries with appropriate supporting records to maintain accuracy within the general ledger.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close by performing account analysis, reconciliation work, and reporting support.
- Support sales tax compliance activities, including reporting and administration through Avalara, and maintain organized records for audits and reviews.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address questions related to invoices, billing, and purchasing documents while contributing to special projects and workflow improvements through automation and AI-enabled tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and month-end accounting processes.
- Practical knowledge of accounts receivable, account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.
- Experience handling accounts payable, invoicing, and financial record documentation with strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity with sales tax support activities; exposure to Avalara is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, investigate discrepancies, and communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
