Job Description

Job DescriptionJob Description Primary Position Objective The Staff Accountant will be responsible for tracking and evaluating the day-to-day activities within all areas of the accounting department. Duties include, but are not limited to, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, accounts payable processing and reconcilement and quarterly reporting and tracking information pertaining to company assets and income for compliance. Moreover, the candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and possess a strong business acumen. This role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and requires a high level of professional capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Ability to multi-task utilizing understanding in all areas of the accounting department Daily/monthly/quarterly operations of the accounting department including: Daily/Monthly journal entries Month end close/reconciliations Monthly financial reports Bank statement/correspondent reconciliation Balance sheet reconciliation Bond investment portfolio reconciliation and reporting Accounts payable process and reconciliation Fixed asset reconciliation Forecasting and budgeting Assist with quarterly call report and regulatory report preparation Prepare committee and board reports Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles Assist in completing audits and tax audits
Requirements:
BS degree in Accounting or Finance or comparable work experience Advanced computer skills: MS Office Suite Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations High attention to detail and accuracy Physical Requirements Talking
